in memoriam Melody Louiceus

With much sadness we learned of the recent death, sudden and unexpected, of Melody Louiceus, gardien at St Matthew’s School and deacon of the St Matthew’s Church. He is remembered for his ready helpfulness, calm strength, and genial personality. Especially we recall his kindliness in the early years of this partnership in welcoming counsellors to the summer camps and the hospitality offered to them by him and his wife Soirine. We extend are condolences to his family and the entire Episcopalian community of Bayonnais. Se pou Bondye akeyi l e li repoze anpè

Vertières

Today, a national holiday, commemorates the final victory, November 18, 1803, at Vertières, of the forces of the Haitian Revolution under Jean-Jacques Dessalines over Napoleon’s expeditionary force. We wish our friends at St Matthew’s the same courage and fortitude to overcome the current challenges and an early return to a celebration as in 2015 >>>>
